Giacomo Puccini's upbringing in a family of women deeply influenced his portrayal of female characters in his operas. Through the performance of reworked pieces from Puccini's operas by Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli, we will immerse ourselves in the stories of extraordinary women such as Minnie, Tosca, Suzuki, and many others. Each female character represents a unique and compelling experience, reflecting both the influence of women in Puccini's life and the gender dynamics of his time.
Through archetypes like the Mother, the Femme Fatale, and the Heroine, we will explore how Puccini captured and conveyed universal traits of the female condition. Our goal is to create an engaging and enlightening experience that not only celebrates Puccini's musical genius but also initiates a meaningful dialogue on gender dynamics and women's empowerment.

Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli: Double bass
Anna Astesano: Arpa
